I decided to see if Michael's videos live up to their promise by trying them out myself.

Here's what I found:

Overall Quality

The first thing I noticed when I opened up the first video was the stunning production quality.

He used Camtasia Studio for the production, which is now the industry standard for creating high-quality screen capture video products.

The audio is near studio quality, and the graphics are very professional. These videos were made by someone who KNOWS what he's doing.

Well done!

I also liked how Michael divided the videos up by section, and then again by sub-section. For example, one video is all about the subject line, and then there are different parts of that video that each cover a certain area of crafting a killer subject line.

Now let's move onto...

THE ACTUAL VIDEOS

Here's a brief summary of each video. Obviously it's impossible to list every single thing here, but I want you to get a feel for what each one covered, and how well it covered it.

VIDEO 1 - INTRODUCTION

This video served as an introduction to the whole course. You get to see a picture of Michael in his every day life, and he establishes his credibility right up front by talking about some of his massive successes online.

He even provides proof of credibility by displaying two checks in the amount of $50,000 and $25,000 which prove that, when it comes to the subject of making money with email promos, he knows his stuff.

This is a good lesson for anyone to get.

Whenever you're teaching people how to do something, it's good to establish your credibility up front, so that there's no doubt about whether or not you're qualified to talk about the subject. Most product developers either skip or minimize this step.

VIDEO 2 - BEFORE YOU WRITE THE PROMO

This video talks about some things that no other marketer has bothered to mention.

You'll learn things like:

* The mindset you need in order to write a killer promo
* The different tools you need before you get started
* How to keep your emails laser-focused
* How to create an outline that practically writes the email for you.

This was a fantastic video, and did a good job of kicking things off.

VIDEO 3 - THE SUBJECT LINE

I liked this video, because it talked about one of MY biggest weaknesses when it comes to writing email promos... the subject line. The subject line is a confusing topic, because nobody's 100% sure what the best tactics are.

Michael breaks it down, and reveals:

* The biggest secret for writing a subject line that makes people insanely curious.
* Techniques for personalizing the subject line.
* Mistakes to avoid when using personalization.

I was surprised to find that I was making some of the mistakes that Michael mentioned in this video, but now I know better.

VIDEO 4 - THE OPENING

This is where a lot of people slack off when writing their emails. Michael talks about how important it is to create an opening that is conversational, and then reveals techniques and examples on how to do that.

He also reveals:

* How to get people to keep reading your email once they've opened it.
* How to make your opening interesting.
* Mistakes to avoid when creating your first few paragraphs.

VIDEO 5 - THE BODY COPY

This is one of the "meatiest" portions of the course, because it reveals techniques that are not widely discussed on the forums, blogs, and in most eBooks. He talks about the importance of keeping your body copy tight and relevant, and then reveals how you can do that. You'll also
learn:

* How to write powerful bullets that make people curious and want to find out more.
* Simple formatting tricks for making your body copy easy to read.
* The secret of "bucket brigade copy" and how to use it in your email promos to force people to keep reading.

VIDEO 6 - THE CALL TO ACTION

This is where a lot of people wimp out in their email promos. They start out strong, but when it comes time to ask the reader to click the link and take action, they don't know what to say.

Michael talks about some of his favorite techniques for making that happen, and also reveals:

* The "magic question" to ask yourself that will make your close much more powerful.
* The secret of the "unanswered question" and why handling this is a surefire way to get people to act right away.
* The structure of a powerful close.

Some people say that the P.S. is one of the most important parts of the email, because it is often the one thing that gets people to click the link at the end. In this video, Michael talks about:

* Why you should including a P.S. at the end of your email.
* The 4 different kinds of P.S.'s you can use (this section was a real eye-opener for me).

VIDEO 8 - COMMON MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE

I loved this video, because it showed me some mistakes that I was making that I wasn't even aware of.

Unless you're a seasoned pro, you're probably guilty of some of the things that Michael talks about in this video as well, and that's why it's so valuable.

I've shaved years off my learning curve, because now I can avoid some of the costly mistakes that I was bound to make in the learning process.

VIDEO 9 - HOW TO CREATE FOLLOW-UP EMAIL PROMOTIONS

This video alone is going to make me a lot of money.

Why?

Because I used to only send out one email promo for each affiliate promotion I was doing. Michael showed me in this video how important it is to send a follow-up promotion, and he showed me exactly how to do it.

He covered things like:

* The psychology of follow-up email promo's.
* The 2 main types of follow-up promos that make the most money.
* How to overcome readers' objections in your follow up emails.
* The 2 most common mistakes people make when writing follow-ups and how to avoid them.

VIDEO 10 - HOW TO WRITE BACK END EMAIL PROMOTIONS

Every marketing guru out there says that the REAL money is on the back end. I'd have to agree with them, but the problem is... most people have no idea how to set up a back end system that makes money.

This video will teach you how to set up an automated back end that's loaded with killer promos that make you lots of cash on autopilot.

He reveals things like:

* The big difference between regular and back end email promos.
* How to prepare a back end promotion sequence.
* Common mistakes people make when creating back end email promos.

VIDEO 11 - CREATING AFFILIATE EMAIL PROMOTIONS

This could be the most important video of the entire package for a lot of people, because most people email their list to promote other people's products as an affiliate.

Let's face it, if you only have 3 products, can you really afford to only email your list 3 times a year? They'll get bored hearing about the same old products over and over again.

This video sheds some light on how to create killer affiliate promos.

Michael reveals things like:

* The two main types of affiliate promos.
* What makes affiliate promos different than regular promos (and why ignoring this huge secret could cost you big money).
* Michael's favorite tactics for creating affiliate promos that no one else is doing.
* 3 different ways to add scarcity to your affiliate promos (this is the most important section of the video, so make sure you watch it over and over again).

CONCLUSION

As you can see, Email Promos Exposed really packs a lot of punch!

Most of the courses out there offer only watered down, weak content.

Not this one!

These videos are going on my "A-list" for a long time!!

I've already watched them twice, and plan on reviewing them every couple months to make sure that I have the principals, techniques and tactics burned into my mind.

How to Get Rich with Network Marketing

Tip! High fees. Network marketing training scams typically require a large, one-time fee to be paid in full in advance, which reflects the hit and run mentality.
Network marketing is a marketing strategy being increasingly put to use by hundreds of home business owners nowadays.

Network marketing is basically retailing products by using independent distributors. These distributors build and manage their own sales force by recruiting others to sell products.

Each person in this downline is a distributor in his own right with his own sales team. This way a “network” of sales people for a particular product is formed.

The upside is that the originating product manufacturer or marketer does not have to bear costly overheads of recruiting and maintaining their own sales team.

Compensation for each distributor or sales person includes one's own sales and a percentage of the sales of his or her entire downline.

In a way Network marketing is the same as MLM or Multi-Level Marketing…a term that has been thoroughly abused by ‘scamsters' and frauds, mostly on the Internet.

Though a whole lot of less than scrupulous people have caused some damage to the standing and credibility of this form of business, it nevertheless figures as a very cost effective revenue stream for a new entrepreneur.

Tip! Create a large customer base. This is another largely ignored, yet very important, piece of your network marketing business.
So how do you get started?

The first thing you would have to do is to select the right MLM Company. That is half the job done. With all those scams doing the rounds, it can get a little overwhelming trying to pin point the MLM company where you would want to participate.

A lot of MLM companies fail because of various reasons. Some are not well financed; some don't have a good, saleable product or haven't been able to innovate to meet new customer requirements.

Still others have shut shop because the federal government got wind of their less than holy dealings and acted fast. Even after those MLM guys who had to wind up, there are still some left that are the Real Mc Coys. These are the guys you need to fish out.

Here are some tips for selecting a good (read ‘Safe') MLM company for starting your Network marketing business.

Tip! Look for a company that has been around and proven itself. Someone who has been in network marketing and has experience might take a chance on a new company, but a novice should be more careful.
 

  1. Participate in an MLM company that has a proven track record for at least five years.
  2. We insist on the figure 5, because if the company has survived half a decade and made money, they would have a good product, enough capability to innovate and would be able to provide their downline with good back-end support.
  3. Look for selling a product that you believe in. Imagine yourself selling weight loss pills when you know for sure that a doctor would never recommend most of these pills! Bottomline is, you can't sell a product if you don't have faith in it.
  4. Seek out a company that provides solid backend support and marketing infrastructure to its downline.

It can rip the shirt off your back to develop new marketing literature for your customers and for your downline.

Tip! Duplicate yourself. Network marketing is about leveraging yourself, reaching many more people, and selling many more products than you could possibly do on your own.

What next?

Once you have selected the right MLM company, the next logical step would be to decide your sales strategy.

Devise a plan for lead generation for the product you will be selling. In your plan include what targets you need to set to break even, what sales literature you will use and yes, most importantly… how will you develop your downline.

Don't forget that one part of your income will come from them. It is a better idea to have 3-4 quality agents in your level-I downline, than to recruit everyone and their cousin and not have a single dime come at the end of the month.

At this point of time, It is usually a good idea to focus on the primary product you chose for marketing rather than include a host of other lucrative offers. It is easy to lose focus and spread yourself out thin that way.

Tip! Not realizing why you are operating the network marketing business.

Finally, how to get rich with Network marketing?

Even with all those bad apples in the bunch, Network marketing is still a very effective marketing strategy. Al you have to do is chose the right company and avoid the ‘scambags', get the right mentors and then build a solid downline of effective sales people.

Though it doesn't have to happen to you, if you've been careful in choosing company, it is still a possibility. You can pre-empt this situation by “Diversifying”.

Join several MLM companies which sell similar or related products and you will not only have multiple income streams but would have also spread out your risk.

Tip! Avoid Network Marketing groups that offer commission-based compensation among distributors. There is a big possibility that it is an illegal pyramid.

Another big reason for failure in Network marketing is poor or ineffective downline. Some trouble areas that you could experience with your network are:

  • - New members find it difficult to sell
  • - New members are unable to generate new leads
  • - Selling techniques being used are not suited to the medium
  • - There is a high outward mobility of new members

The trick to succeeding is to tackle these trouble areas at the time of recruitment. When you recruit new members, provide them with ample literature on the company and the product, train them on sales techniques by example and keep your team motivated. They are, by themselves a strong revenue stream for you.

Tip! Some network marketing operators take the business reluctantly as if its status will not able to decline in time.

I remember a couple of lines from a song I heard once, “ Chance is not choices, Noise is not voices”. If you look carefully, two of the biggest secrets of success in any business lie in there.

“Chance is not Choices”… There is difference between falling upon a lucky clover and growing them yourself. So plan your business carefully, choose a good MLM company and build your sales downline with care.

“Noise is not Voices”… the world is out there “revealing” secrets of sure shot success “just for you”.

That's just noise.

Listen to your own experiences; what they have taught you is invaluable. And when you teach the same to your downline, you enhance the possibility of your business' success.

Network marketing may not work 95% of the times, but there are still those 5 chances out of a 100 when it will work. So plan for success in Network marketing and reap the benefits.

Network Marketing: How Sharp Is Your Axe?

Tip! As soon as you finish reading this, run out and buy Wave 4: Network Marketing in the 21st Century by Richard Poe. I don't know Richard Poe, but I do know that this book explains everything.

In his book, "Super Prospecting: Special Offers and Quick-start Systems", Tom "Big Al" Schreiter tells the story of an old lumberjack who observed a young lumberjack laboring to chop down a tree.

After watching the youngster work himself to nearly exhaustion without accomplishing much, the old man said, "Looks to me like it'd be easier if you sharpened the axe."

To which the younger man replied before returning to his attack on the tree, "I don't have time to sharpen the axe, I have to get this tree cut down."

Now, it seems obvious to most of us that a sharp axe would probably make the work go faster and easier. The young lumberjack would be able to cut down more trees with less work just by taking a few minutes to sharpen his axe. Prepare his tools. Learn his trade, you might say!

You know, it's funny. Most of us have no problem seeing the point of that story, but everyday, people sign up for network marketing programs and then start hacking away with very blunt axes!

Most of these folks have no idea of what network marketing is, how to go about it, or how to measure success.

I recently received an email from a gentleman interested in getting into network marketing. He asked some very insightful questions, but one demonstrated his misunderstanding of most genuine network marketing programs.

He asked, if I remember correctly, how long it would take to make a significant income from a certain network marketing program, and seemed to indicate that he would expect a sucessful program to generate an income of about $48,000 or more within a relatively short period of time. Otherwise, he would consider it a scam.

Well, honestly, I guess my two friends who I often hold up as examples somehow missed that point. It took each of them about three years in perfectly legitimate programs to begin making money anything like what my correspondent expected.

At that point, by the way, their incomes began to grow exponentially until they were taking home over $100,000.00 a month.

We'll say nothing about countless Avon ladies who are network marketers and whose income from network marketing is less than $20,000.00 a year, who consider themselves successfully affiliated with an honest company.

Tip! Understand What Motivates the Prospect – Any prospect will be inclined to join network marketing business only in the hope of meeting his unfulfilled desires. He may be looking for financial security, additional income, freedom from daily grind, business ownership and so on.

Or, I guess I should be concerned about my affiliation with a nationally recognized company (you've probably seen their commercials on prime time). The first year, I only made a few hundred dollars.

The second year a few thousand. I'm in my fifth year with them, and I am now making the magical number...a six figure income from that program alone. I presently have over 200 fully satisfied customers and tons of repeat business. Not what I would call a scam!

Tip! Not realizing why you are operating the network marketing business.

I don't mean to insult the gentleman who sent me the question. His questions were valid, and I understand his concerns and applaud his attempt to gain some insight into network marketing.

However, it appears his understanding of network marketing is limited to a desire to find a program that will in some way do the work for him...make income for him.

Unfortunately, network marketing is a business...albeit a special kind of business...and it works best when worked certain ways.

Many successful network marketers have written many excellent books and articles on the subject, and there are marketing and internet marketing training programs available for those who wish to learn. Some colleges are even offering courses and classes on network marketing and internet marketing.

Tip! Some distributors don't give ample time or attention to their network marketing group.

People going into network marketing should be doing more than simply listening to the person who recruits them and scanning the company literature.

If they were hired to do any job they had never done before, no matter how menial, they would recognize the need to familiarize themselves with the business and how it is conducted. Especially if they intended to rise in the business and succeed.

A few books the beginning network marketer might want to read are:

  • Super Prospecting: Special Offers & Quick-Start Systems by Tom "Big Al" Schreiter
  • Your First Year In Network Marketing by Mark and Rene Yarnell
  • The Wave 4 Way To Building Your Downline by Richard Poe (and several others)
  • The Greatest Networker In The World by John Milton Fogg
  • Off-The-Wall Marketing Ideas by Nancy Michaels and Debbi J. Karpowicz

These tend to be a little old but can probably be found thru Amazon.com, and they are excellent education for the beginning network marketer.

Tip! After giving a complete network marketing presentation to a prospect, you discover that he/she was never qualified to begin with. He was irrational, illogical, unmotivated and didn't have two dimes to rub together.

The person who fails to educate himself or herself about network marketing in general and their chosen business in particular, has chosen to fail.

Like the young lumberjack, they will flail at the tree until their strength or motivation fails them, and then they will wander into the forest...perhaps complaining loudly about trees, axes, lumberjacks...anything but themselves.

They will not know why they failed, how they could have succeeded, or how to measure success.

Their axes will be dull, indeed.

Start Early Collecting Testimonials

One of the first goals for network-marketers who want to succeed fast, big, and long-term, should be to believe enough in their product to get it in the hands of potential customers and distributors as quickly as possible.

This assumes of course that you're working with an excellent company which has an excellent product(s).

When those criteria are met, waste no time in gathering testimonials.

Testimonials are the results that end-users receive from your products or service. They get direct benefits that wow them to the point of talking about them to others.

Testimonials will sell more products, to more customers, more of the time, than any sales pitch. Why? It's because of the energy, conviction and living proof that someone has received a real benefit from the product or service.

Secondly, it is because that testimonial is not coming from you, the distributor which may make it appear as a sales pitch.

Learn How To Get More Testimonials

First get enough product or services in the hands of 20 or more people as quickly as possible. If it is a really great product, you should have about seven or more great testimonials in less than two to three weeks.

Secondly, listen for testimonials. Some customers will give them freely as long as you'll take the time to listen. I've picked up on testimonials while speaking on the telephone, visiting in hospitals and in casual conversations.

I've had customers to use my product and they have felt so great as a result that the changes had escaped them until they began to think and talk about it. Some will then go on and on about the product even amazing themselves at the results they've achieved once they focus on the benefits.

Tip! Duplicate yourself. Network marketing is about leveraging yourself, reaching many more people, and selling many more products than you could possibly do on your own.

Third, ask for testimonials. You have not because you ask not. Ask! and you shall receive. Seek! and you shall find. Knock! and the door of testimonials shall be opened to you.

Fourth, capture the testimonials. Keep a record of them. Record those testimonials with permission of the customers. Have them to write them out and sign them. Include their photographs where possible. What is even better is to tape and or video record them and use them in sales literature, on websites and in live meetings.

Tip! Create a large customer base. This is another largely ignored, yet very important, piece of your network marketing business.

Use Testimonials Effectively

As I have begun to gather the testimonials of clients who have lowered their blood-pressure, lowered cholesterol, improved their kidney function, overcome gout, insomnia, improved energy and strength, normalized their blood sugar as diabetics, gained relief from fibromyalgia, arthritic pain, acid reflux and other digestive disorders, I capture them through audio and video recordings where possible.

When I speak with new prospects, if they have any of the conditions that my product addresses out of the 34 scientifically validated health benefits, I choose the appropriate category of testimonials and forward them through email or in person to let them hear for themselves the experience of live people who are already benefiting from the product and experiencing the results they're seeking.

Tip! Don't rush into network marketing. Look around and find a good company that suits you and your needs.

This works much more effectively than selling and everyone wins.

Warning: Always allow time for testimonials in your meetings but use caution. Stay away from the over exaggerated claims that could get you in trouble with regulatory agents. If you're in the health and wellness industry, avoid making claims of any cures.
