If there is one and only one ingredient to guarantee your success in Internet MLM, I would say it is discipline. Discipline that I am about to define here is the discipline towards ourselves; commitment that we gave to ourselves; high standard that we set for ourselves.
Discipline is a bridge between our thought and accomplishment to our success in Internet MLM. Discipline is the glue that binds inspiration to achievement. They are the foundation on which all success is built. Failure is lead by lack of discipline.
95% of internet marketer fails because they failed to follow their plan. They do not have discipline towards themselves. If your plan was to write 4 articles this week and you only write 1, you are behind by 3 articles- today.
If your plan was to post 3 post each in 3 different forums and you post only 1, you are behind by 8 posts- today. If you accumulate all these one day, it will make a difference over a period of time.
Success follows the exact same pattern. If you planed to write 4 articles this week and you write 5, you are ahead with 1 article. Do the same thing over and over again and you will see two different destinations.
Imagine there is two lines draws on the 2 dimensional plans, where X is the time period and Y is the destination.
Starting from the coordinate (0, 0), one line represents the plan plus 1 and the other line represents the plan minus 1.
You see 2 lines starting in origin and heading different directions. Upper portion represents those who follow the plan where bottom portion are those who failed to follow the plan.
Over the course of certain period, they are at different location.
Discipline is the master key to success in Internet MLM. It unlocks the door to financial freedom and success.
Overall, what does it take to acquire discipline?
First of all, you have to start by asking yourself this question:
"What do I want to accomplish in Internet MLM?"
"What changes/actions do I need to make in order to get what I want in Internet MLM?"
Second, you have to ask yourself honestly; "Am I willing to do what it takes?"
If you answer NO, then this is not the business you want to involve in.
You will become proven failure in the business and you better off go back to 40/40/40 scheme.
Which is working 40 hours per week, working 40 years and retire with $40,000 in the bank account.
If you answer YES, then you need to make long term commitment to maintain your discipline wisely, deliberately, consistently.
Finally, your commitment will be tested. I can guarantee there is no smooth ride out there. Through the journey, you will make mistake, you will get frustrated, you will waste some money, and time.
At this point, the discipline and commitment that you made to yourself is the key to break these barriers, to stretch yourself, to grow and to understand more about the business.
Always think positive; force yourself to go out your comfort zone to get what you need.
Remember this phrase "If I can't, I must. If I must, I can."
Commit to yourself, have self discipline and stick with the plan.
That is the key to succeed in Internet MLM.
Please do not be those 95% who talk, do become those 5% that do.
Start the process of discipline and start small and then learn to stick with your new commitment and from there, the sky is the limit.
A positive altitude causes a chain reaction of positive outcomes; it is a catalyst... a spark that creates extraordinary results.

Should I start a Network Marketing Career? By Sherman Choo
Network Marketing is a business model that can lead to a fulfilling career and a retirement style income.
Before embarking on a this path, do consider the following:
1) Your Own Mindset
People fail in MLM when they do not develop a positive hardworking mindset. This not only applies to MLM, but anything worth achieving in life.
We only achieve when we are PASSIONATE about what we do. Passion makes our actions laser focused to hit our targets.
2) Attitude
A good mindset leads to a positive attitude. When something does not go our way, we should learn from the results and not blame someone or the company from it.
We may not have control over the Network Marketing company, or whether or not our MLM sponsor supports us, but we can chart our own path and control our own destiny.
One can take various action by staying with the company, put one's best attitude forward and succeed with the company's system, signup again under a better sponsor, or opt out and do something different. Our mindset, actions, destiny are ours to decide.
3) The Sponsor
It is important to start off with a good sponsor at the beginning. This is because the initial months usually decide whether or not the new enrollee will stay in the business.
Some people may feel unhappy that their sponsor did not contribute to them, left them in the lurch or are simply piggy backing of their downline's efforts without contributing to their success and learning process.
Search for a strong team and sponsor focused on the MLM business you are keen in, before joining the team. A strong sponsor will impart all the right skills for you to achieve a retirement style income.
The Network Marketing business model builds on the principle of duplication. It is important to note that these systems do not necessarily set you up for success.
People join these companies thinking that if they follow these steps, they will be set up for massive profits, which is not entirely true since not everyone can naturally follow the same practices.
Such systems involve the following:
Make a friends list and contact them
3 foot rule. Use DVDs and CDs, go up to anyone within 3 feet and give them the Network Marketing DVD and CD
Buy Leads and cold call.
Invite prospects to seminars and allow the seminars to sell your prospects on the Network Marketing business model
Train yourself to be numb to rejection and hear ten "no's" before you hear a "yes"
Do people really make BIG money following these Network Marketing practices?
Yes.
And I also know many who don't and struggle to talk to prospects, bring family and friends to seminars and functions.
An alternative way to the traditional Network Marketing Business model involves harnessing the power of the INTERNET and no cold calling.
To build a successful Internet Network Marketing business model, one needs to learn the techniques required to harness leads on auto pilot, then guide these prospects into duplicating the same success on the Internet.
Below are some of the tools I personally use and recommend. These tools have passed my test, which isn't easy. If you would like to recommend a tool you use daily with great results, please send a note to the editor.
Understanding the Difference between MLM and Pyramids By Vincent Dupuy
An easy and quick way to get started in the fantastic world of Internet Marketing is affiliate sales.
That is pretty straight forward:
Promote someone else's products or services, and get paid a certain amount per sale. Like a sales rep on commission.
You can do this on your own website, via search engine marketing, ezines or any other online (or even offline) method.
Several of these affiliate providers also offer a different way of making money: recruiting new affiliates for them.
Typically, you get paid a certain amount for each new affiliate you recruit for them, who will do the same as you, which is to sell their products and services and possibly recruit new affiliates.
In many cases, you also get paid a certain amount on their sales as well. This is what everyone is striving for: recurring, passive income.
Once you build a good group of active affiliates, you can make money every day without doing anything!
This is called MLM, or Multi-Level Marketing.
It is a business venture that has a very nice potential, but can take some time to build. Patience is of the essence.
On the other end of the spectrum, you will find pyramid schemes.
These will often claim to be MLM programs, because this term is much more positively accepted.
Don't be fooled though, because pyramids are not MLM programs.
They are money pits, where the vast majority of participants lose large amounts of money.
How can you differentiate them?
It's not always easy, but essentially, pyramids don't sell anything except membership to the pyramid.
There is no value-add.
There is no product or service involved.
If all you do is pay to be in the program, then is a pyramid.
They will almost always try to disguise it, so it is important to understand that money doesn't multiply itself without any value add.
Here is how a typical pyramid scheme works:
B is recruited by A and gives him money, and perhaps also to B.
Then C will need to find D and E to break even, and recruit F to start making money.
Then F does the same, etc.
As you can imagine, only the few people at the very top of the pyramid make money, the middle struggle to break even and the bulk of the participant, located at the bottom, just send their money to the top and don't make a dime before quitting.
Another important difference:
Pyramids are ILLEGAL in most countries.
MLM programs on the other hand are perfectly legal.
Some are very hard to make money with, some are profitable, but that's another debate altogether.
Just make sure you do your research before joining any kind of program involving recruiting others to do the same thing you do.
