Thats right.. The dirty truth.

Here it is:

Network marketing companies appear to be thriving groups of consuming customers, all happy with the product that they are consuming and they really are, but what drives that community of thriving consumers has absolutely nothing to do with the product itself.

Said another way...it's not about the product.

What is your first reaction to that statement?

Now, lets think about this.

Let me ask you a question:

Why did you decided to get started in a network marketing business?

You dont have to say anything out loud but answer this question in your head right now to yourself.

I guarantee you answer is somewhere along these lines

"Well, I started my business because I wanted to make some extra money and who knows maybe even become financially free."

Am I right?

Well let me ask you another question now.

When you prospect and talk to leads about your business what do you talk to them about?

Most likely you try to stick to the corporate script, which inevitable ends up with your prospect asking you questions about your network marketing companies products or services.

And by the end of the conversation you've lost control of the call and both you and your prospect end up confused (usually get somewhere between details about your companies product or service and the compensation plan).

You get of the phone and hope that by some grace of god your prospect you paid $5 to confuse will decided to join your business.

Sound familier?

Heres why:

Successful Network Marketing has NOTHING to do with selling your prospect on your product at ALL!

To the contrary, the only thing that you should EVER talk to your prospect about is the same thing that got you sold on your companies business . . . More Money and Financial Freedom!

You see network marketing is built on financial hopes and dreams and honestly, if you're looking for business builders to recruit into your organization your prospects hopes and dreams of financial success are the only thing that you should speak to them about, so they can sell themselves on it.

As an illustration of this principle think about the situation this way, if you had equal amounts of your companys product in one hand and money in the other which do you think your prospect would choose?

The top money earners know the answer to that question and that's how they make all their money!

Here's the other shift in perspective that you're going to have to make if you want to have ultimate success with your business and it's simply a logical continuation on the point just discussed.

What you think of as your company's product is NOT it's real product at ALL!

Do you think your network marketing company's product is it's moon juice or long distance service?

If you do you're very wrong.

Remember your network marketing business will not grow if you just push product it will only grow if you sell people on their financial dreams.

So if you think about it, your company's real product is it's sales training and marketing system.

The better your company's marketing system is able to help you generate sales the better any more quickly you will be able to reap the financial benefits of your business. And eventually you'll want your downline to do all the work so you don't have to.

The simpler and more effective the marketing system plus the strong training your company provides, the easier your system will duplicate.

If you want to think about it in it's most simple form, your company's real product is it's duplicability.

If you find a system that is easy to duplicate and you can have your prospect "sell themselves" on their financial dreams you will have a highly successful network marketing business.

Your Job is Simple:

Find people that want to attain financial freedom your way and then shorten their learning curve so that they can go out and do the same.

The truth is offline and online network marketing are not all that much different.

When promoting a network marketing opportunity offline, whether it's through buying and cold calling leads or a direct mail campaign, your job is to expose your offer to as many people as possible.

I was with a mlm company that promoted using flyers, "pull-tabs" and signs to generate leads.

Talk about work, for 10 leads it took 1,000 flyers a day, that's 5,000 a week, 20,000 to 25,000 per month.

Sure it worked, but who could do that continuously on a "PART TIME" basis?

But the objective was still the same - exposure to as many people as possible.

The story doesn't change when you promote your business online. The objective is getting your offer seen by as many people as possible. This translates online into: targeted TRAFFIC generation.

The amount of targeted TRAFFIC that you can generate to your lead capture page is directly proportional to the amount of success that you will have promoting your opportunity online.

It's that simple!

The challenge is most network marketers don't know anything about generating unique and highly targeted traffic online, so many of them fall into traffic generation traps that waste their time and money.

My goal is not to have this happen to people. I discuss traffic generation methods that are tried and true.

These are methods that I've learned work over the past few years after falling for most of the traps myself.

The traffic generation techniques that are to follow work - and will ALWAYS work.

They are the ONLY traffic generation methods that you will EVER need.

What does targeted traffic mean?

The term targeted traffic is any traffic generation method that will get your offer in front of as many interest people as possible.

Here's the principle that all of the traffic generation methods to follow are be based on.

FIND TARGETED GROUP + GET CLICKS = HIGHLY TARGETED TRAFFIC

It's a simple formula.

The principle above is extremely powerful, so don't underestimate it!

Now here's the deal . . .

Some of the traffic generation methods that we're going to discuss here are "free" and some arent.

Don't automatically assume that either free or paid traffic has an inherent advantage over the other. They both work. Free methods aren't really free because they will in most cases cost you time.

Have you ever been so excited about something you thought would make you a lot of money, only to have it blow up in your face and let you down?

Thousands of people join one or more of the many network marketing business opportunities that are flashed all over the net. The sad part is that many people end up a lot broker at the end than when they first started.

Does that describe you?

There are various reasons for this, one being that perhaps the person that brought you into the business, also known as a sponsor, did not know a heck of a lot about marketing or even business for that matter.

They couldn't even point you in the right direction. It's a classic case of the blind leading the blind.

This is one of many challenges you will endure in your network marketing journey. You will either succumb or prosper from these challenges.

However, it's through these challenges that you learn some of the secrets to becoming massively successful in your business. Most of these lessons will be taught to you unknowingly by the ones closest to you in your business - your sponsor and the rest of you upline.

Here are the top challenges and the lessons learned.

1. They never return your calls or anyone else's.

As a result, you learn to be independent and seek out answers for yourself.

2. They have conference calls that last for hours, but it's always the same old tired MLM propaganda i.e. "everybody can do this business!" Or "everyone needs to order more products!"

As a result, you learn to differentiate between leaders that lead and leaders that follow everybody else.

3. They encourage you to do more of "it" - whatever that means!

As a result, you learn how to track your marketing so that you know what's working and what is not working, and thus improve "it".

4. They tell you to "smile and dial" knowing damn well you don't have any teeth.

As a result, you learn not to take things so personally and listen for the spirit of the message and not the literal meaning.

5. They give you a list of eight month old leads and tell you should be able to sponsor someone!

As a result, you learn to be grateful for the little help they do give you.

6. After signing you up and taking your credit card number, they disappear into the Twilight Zone never to be heard from again until convention rolls around.

You learn to persevere and carry-on and be a better role model than the one they were to you.

7. They don't give you any advice or guidance, but yet wonder why you aren't building your business and making them richer.

As a result you learn that your success or failure lies within you and not them.

8. They lie and tell you everyone is your prospect, so you immediately make an ass out of yourself lurking in the business section of Barnes and Noble waiting for unsuspecting victims to vomit your mlm spiel on.

As a result, you learn better marketing techniques on your own, and you become more successful than them.

9. You find out that your sponsor was part of a contest to see how many prospects could be signed up in a month... she won and you realize that you were just another "number" and worth a $5 bag of popcorn at Target!

As a result, you learn that no one else can determine your value. Your value to the marketplace will be determined by the skills you bring forth.

10. After two years, you're just as broke and you're ready to quit after spending thousands of dollars on self-development, self-improvement, and self-enlightenment CDs. Your sponsor then says to you..."You didn't give it a chance."

As a result, you look back and see what you've done that got you to this point. You re-assess your marketing and business plans and decide to continue on and stay the course until you succeed.

Through their indifference to you and their faulty 1970s marketing advice, you have persevered and found a way to build your business successfully.

You've managed to do it without making massive phone calls to idiots who fill out "work at home surveys" to get an IPOD like the one they already have. And you did it without them and in spite of them.

Thus, the eleventh reason to love your sponsor is that they forced you to become the leader that they could never be. You were forced to find a better way. And you did.
