The Marketer's Best Alternative to FrontPage and DreamWeaver
This week I would like to tell you about one of the best web design packages I have ever seen since I came online in 1998.
Considering the many different and sometimes very expensive and VERY complicated design software packages like Frontpage, Dreamweaver, etc. the choices and decisions a web designer has to make in order to get a site online can be overwhelming.
When I started creating web sites I learned basic HTML. But that is not the easiest way to put a site online.
So I have been using Stone's Webwriter for many years (and I still do). This is a HTML editor that can help you alot when designing basic sites, but when you want to develop a site with thousands of pages, Stone's Webwriter is not good enough anymore.
So, a few months ago I came across a web design software site that cort my eyes at one's. After seeing the demo video and reading through all the sales text there I was SOLD!
And after a few weeks I desided it was time to get serious and upgrade my web design software to something that really could handle the kind of sites I have always wanted to create.
BOY! Did I get serious! Since purchasing this software, I have developed sites with a combined number of pages ranging in the 3,000+ with more to come.
I design 99% of all my pages and sites with this software now.
And since one of the ways I prefer to create sites is with articles from other authors I find online, using this software to design a template and then importing the articles is a breeze.
So, what is the name of this wonderful software?
I'll tell you in a minute ...
But before I do, please remember that I have used all sorts of design software during the time I have made web site, and this software I am reviewing here is in the top #1 spot for price, usability, features, and support.
AND ... they give you 1 full year of 100% money back guarantee!
Check it out. And please, feel free to tell me about all the sites you create.
Thank you

A Guide to Online Advertising Strategies Understanding the Nature and Value of Online Advertising
Finding sources for advertising on the Internet can sometimes seem really challenging. Some resources charge a lot of money, and it can be difficult to justify that cost.
When your advertisement will run a day, a week or a month, that makes the decision even more nerve-racking. The trick with advertising is that you don't know what you are going to get in return for your investment.
Each time you buy an advertisement, it is a roll of the dice. Ideally, you would want to earn as much from your advertisement as it had cost you to buy that advertisement. With newspaper advertising and print magazine advertising, the costs can sometimes be incredible.
A generic classified ad in a newspaper could run you in the neighborhood of $20-$25 per week. Display advertising can run you a few hundred dollars a week in some newspapers --- thousands in other newspapers.
The same cost ratio affects print magazine advertising as well, but the actual cost numbers are generally much higher, for an appearance in one issue. When comparing the costs of web advertising versus print advertising, the costs of web advertisements are generally much more reasonable.
Granted, if you shop around, you can find several websites who charge rates consistent with print advertising. But, there are even more sites that can deliver affordable advertising to the small online business.
As a small business, we must look to the full value we receive from our advertising, and we must pay close attention to our bottom line. We cannot afford to break the bank with our advertising. Fortunately, with the Internet, there are more ways in which we can measure the success of our advertising.
A link is not "just a link" on a website. Google puts a lot of value in the links that point to our websites. Some links will give us more value than others. Over time, Google will give some PageRank nearly all webpages that it archives. And, that PageRank will transfer by proxy to the pages where the ranked page points.
To follow the logic of the Google PageRank system, if one website links to another website, then Google considers that as a vote towards the value of the external website. So, when you develop a link that points to your website, then that link could pass value to your own website.
The more value that Google deems your own website to have, the better the "resource" they will consider your site. Websites that have a higher "resource" value will rank higher in Google's SERP's (Search Engine Ranking Pages).
Beyond the actual link, Google also places value on the embedded imbedded in the link. For example, you could have your link set up to show the visible text as: "http://www.yourdomainurl.com"
But, even better than this setup, you could set your visible embedded (imbedded keyword link text) to reflect the keywords that best represent your site: "My Domain Keywords". When you imbed keywords in your link, then your linking value is increased.
Not only do you have a link to your site, but you also have keywords in that link that describe the content of your website.
This is a tool that you can use to increase the likelihood that your optimized keywords will generate good placement in the SERP's.
Of course, Google is not the end-all-be-all of search engine marketing. They are the biggest, but both Yahoo and MSN have been talking up systems similar to the Google PageRank ranking scheme.
In time, the number of inbound links you have to your website will affect not only your Google placement, but also your Yahoo and MSN placement.
What this means to you is that if you can generate more links from more pages that have good value in the search ranking schemes, then your page will also finish higher in the search results.
The higher you place in a search engine, the more traffic you will receive.
Page three in one of the search engines will mean the difference between dozens of visitors to your website and hundreds of visitors.
Page one of the search results is the optimum outcome, because it will help bring thousands of people to your website instead of hundreds of people.
The more links that you have pointing to your website, the better your website will rank in the search engines.
The more links you have pointing to your website of a higher recognized value will also help you to rank better in the search engines.
And beyond these factors, the final factor that will affect your ranking is the time period in which your website can retain its links from third parties.
Here today and gone next week is practically worthless to you in the search engine marketing game.
Here today and gone next month is not worth much more.
Here today and here next year. Now that is something to brag about.
That will help you to gain search engine value and retain that value over the long haul. Here this year, and here two years from now is even better.
Yes, the search engine companies find value in a websites ability to hold its links on a year-after-year basis.
As with any other kind of business, you will need to advertise your business to survive. Links on websites will actually help you to gain additional value beyond just the advertisement for your website.
You will also gain linking value that will help your search engine rankings over the long haul, if you can get your links onto sites that will keep your link active for a longer period of time.
Inbound links will help to drive up your search engine rankings, which will enable the search engines to send more traffic to your website.
And best of all, any person that visits your website from a search engine has already pre-qualified themselves to buy what you are selling on your website.
And that is the reason you went into business in the first place, isn't it? You got into business to make money, and your advertising will help you to do just that.

5. SECOND SPONSOR AD SECTION
Your Second Section Sponsor Ad Could Have Been Here.
With the proliferation of websites, blogs, RSS feeds, podcasts, and other communication tools, consumers are bombarded with marketing messages, new products, unbeatable offers, and other opportunities on a daily basis.
Marketing professionals are challenged with finding new ways to reach consumers despite ever increasing promotional noise and clutter.
So many of today’s marketing executives and product development professionals still believe that building a good product, is all you need - consumers will seek them out on their own.
However, nothing could be further from the truth. In today’s marketplace, having a good product or service is simply the cost of entry. And unfortunately, because of clutter, may never get noticed even if a prospect is looking for it.
Marketing made simple.
Although one could argue that the traditional pillars of marketing (product, place, price, and promotion) are still required for the effective marketing and selling of products or services, they alone are not enough to cut through clutter. The only true weapon against clutter is relevancy.
When a product or service is seen as being relevant to the specific needs of a prospect, then you’ve successfully overcome the clutter that prevents consumers from taking notice of your product or service.
How to make your marketing relevant.
To be relevant, you must first have a firm understanding of your audience. Ask yourself, “Who is my prospect? What does he or she need? Want? How does he or she like to be communicated to?”
It’s only after you have a deep understanding of your audience that you can begin to shape promotional marketing messages that can consistently differentiate your offering and be seen as unique in a sea of noise and sameness.
Once you’ve gotten a grasp on your audience, you need to apply an ongoing approach of refining your marketing message, offer(s), and campaign timing.
If you apply just a little discipline towards testing and measuring the effectiveness of these marketing components, you can quickly determine the best formula for reaching your prospective audience regardless of competing noise.
After you become relevant, deliver an experience.
Now let’s assume that you’ve been paying attention and you have accomplished the need to be relevant, what then? In order to take a prospect that final few inches, to where they try or purchase your product, you must be capable of describing or delivering the experience you can provide.
In an increasingly commoditized world, prospects differentiate the products or services they chose by the experiences they can or do create.
Keep in mind that giving a consumer a positive experience goes beyond the obvious. Be sure to take a customer centric approach and work towards an incredibly positive user experience. This will set you apart from your competition and help you build your brand.

Below are some of the tools I personally use and recommend. These tools have passed my test, which isn't easy. If you would like to recommend a tool you use daily with great results, please send a note to the editor.
My business experience has taught me one true thing: That maximizing your productivity, happiness, peace, or impact can best be accomplished if you clearly understand the 12 Rules of Time.
1. Have goals
Being more efficient with your time is irrelevant if you don't know how you want to spend it. In managing time, the compass is more important than the clock. Know where you want to go and spend your time on the things that get you there.
Many people spend energy trying to be more efficient without first doing what's important: setting goals. It's like being lost on your way to a new city. Driving faster doesn't help if you are going in the wrong direction.
Figure out what direction to go in and head that way.
Once you've prepared it, your list of goals will reveal what is important to you.
2. Analyze how you spend your time
It is always good to know how you're spending your time right now. You can track this by setting a timer to go off every 15 minutes; whenever it sounds, write down exactly what you are doing. Alternatively, divide your day into 15-minute blocks and record each activity you do.
Once you have your time logs, examine them. How do they compare to your goals? Are you spending time where your priorities are?
3. Keep a to-do list
This sounds too simple, but it really is the basis of all time-management systems. Your to-do list can be electronic, on fancy paper, bound in a notebook or loose-leaf. The key is to have everything you want to accomplish on one list.
My to-do list might have a one-line item on it, such as "write annual report," which refers me to a much larger file or even a file box on that item.
4. Prioritize your list
Once you have the list, determine which are the important items. Mark these with a highlighter, a red pen, or in any other way that makes them stand out.
I sometimes find my to-do list is too big. Every item on the list calls out "pay attention to me!", even though most of them weren't highlighted as important. In these cases, I take a blank sheet of paper and cover my to-do list and write down only the three or four most important items. Those are the ones to focus on.
5. Control procrastination
I use a number of tricks to break any lingering tendencies to procrastinate. For instance, I happen to like having a hard copy of my digital to-do list. I reprint it every few days as new items are added and completed ones dropped.
It is at these times that I look for the items that I've marked as high priority, but which are just not getting done.
People often say I have great self-control. In truth, though, much of it is environment control. I control my environment to eliminate things that I might use to procrastinate. Take games off your computer, for example, sell your TV, and get rid of the busywork jobs that you use to avoid the important tasks.
I have developed one effective habit that has helped break me of procrastination: "Do the worst thing first."
At the beginning of every day, I do the one task that is causing me the most stress, and that I haven't been getting done. Sometimes I just give it a quarter of an hour — based on the theory that I can stand just about anything for 15 minutes. Frequently it is this short thrust that breaks me through.
If I still find myself procrastinating, I review my reasons for setting a goal. To create extra motivation to complete a task, I strengthen the reasons why it should be done. Similarly, many people reward themselves for completing a job.
6. Organize
Organization and time management are linked. I find that I get important things done when I have all the tools I need to perform the job.
The opposite of organization — chaos, clutter, disorganization — generally leads to busy work. If your desk is piled high, every piece of paper says "look at me." You can end up doing a lot of work without ever getting to the important stuff.
7. Delegate
One way to expand your time is to get others to help you with it. The key to delegation is to hand off any tasks that someone else can do significantly faster or more easily than you can.
If you're protesting that you don't have anyone working directly for you to whom you can delegate tasks, no problem. Consider delegating to a peer, a superior, a supplier, or even a customer. Treat delegation like networking: who in your network would be best for the job?
In some cases you will need to invest up-front to train someone so he or she can take over a task from you. The long-term savings are usually worth the up-front time and costs.
After delegation, remember to thank appropriately. You might think people would resent being delegated to, but exactly the opposite is true. People like to be asked, especially if it is to do something that they're good at.
8. Master efficiency tricks
The best trick I have found is "The Power of While." What can you do while you drive? While you walk? While you clean? While you watch TV? I am a huge audio tape advocate and frequently listen to tapes while I am doing something else.
Being a techno person, I love all the organization software out there that allows me to keep my contacts, to-do lists and appointments. I also use gadgets such as cellphones, wireless e-mail, and personal digital assistants. Good use of technology can save you valuable time.
9. It's OK to say no
Saying "No" can be the most powerful time tool you can master. When someone asks you to do something, ask yourself how important this is. Does it help you achieve your goals? Is this a task you would be better at than most people? Don't always look for reasons to get out of things, but be strategic about what you take on.
This doesn't mean that I always say no when asked to help out. But if I do say no, I am always polite and tactful, and try to suggest someone else who would do the job well.
10. Focus
Committing 100% focus and concentration on one task at a time can be very powerful. Eliminate distractions. Focus on the task. When you're properly organized and prepared, when your energy and power are high, you can often complete a task in 20% of the time it would take when you're distracted or open to interruption.
11. Build your efficiency bank
High efficiency is not possible if you don't look after yourself. Eat right, exercise, sleep well and drink moderately. Mom knew best: all the things she said were good for you just happen to be best for your efficiency, too.
I also believe meditation can be a great way of building your efficiency. It could be transcendental meditation, Zen, or just finding a way to get into a relaxed state that lets you focus on the task you have to do.
No matter how you do it, recharging your batteries gives you the power to do more during the times you need to be at your best.
12. Take care of yourself
It isn't possible to be "on" all the time. Take the time you need to look after yourself — body and soul — so that you can reach peak efficiency when you need to. Have a list of things you like to do.
Find out what activities energize you, and spend more time doing them. This will give you the power and energy to be more productive when you return to work.
Finally, a word of advice. If after reading this far you're feeling a bit overwhelmed, I suggest you go back to Rule 1 and add peace (contentment) to your list of goals.
Time management is not about adding stress; it is about giving you the time to be the person you really want to be.
