Talk to Any Prospect, Anytime, Without Fear or Hesitation

Most network marketers fail because they are too afraid to talk with people about their MLM business or products.

But real MLM success is possible when you follow these three proven steps to get over the fear of talking with prospects.

I know they work...I sponsored 56,000 people using these three steps. Now, read them and use them yourself.

An unidentified person sent me this question:

My biggest challenge has been picking up that 50-lb. "black snake" [the telephone] to prospect. I'm sick and tired of FEAR ruling this aspect of my life. Tim, how do I conquer this fear once-and-for-all, and get on with my life?

The "tough love" answer is stop pretending to be in fear about it.

A person "trying" to quit smoking; still is. A person "trying" to lose weight; still is. A person "trying" to over come fear of the phone; still is.

In the words of Yoda*,  "No try, only do."

So, here are the three simple steps that will help you overcome the fear of calling prospects and put you on the road to MLM success:

1. Rehearse what you will say.

2. Decide to do a call.

3. Pick up the phone and dial before fear intercepts your decision.

Steps 2 and 3 are my trick to get myself to consistently exercise.

If I give myself 30 seconds to think, "...if I feel like it;" I NEVER work out!

I set an alarm to alert me at a specific time -when it chimes- I push my chair away from my desk and go get dressed for a workout immediately.

The steps above assume you have already listened to the detailed MLM training for talking with prospects in Professional Inviter a few times and have heard me do live calls.

If not, do that immediately.

The reason I put the live calls in there is so you can hear the way calls are supposed to sound -and the reason I put the people rejecting me on the last CD is so you can hear that I lived through it... and went on to achieve phenomenal MLM success.

You too can achieve this same success with the right training.

On the subject of personal growth, there are some things about you that are good to gradually change-making phone calls isnt one of them. I do believe you should rehearse before you make calls.

So, spend 10 minutes rehearsing -decide to make calls-make the call. Wrap that "black snake" around your elbow and don't put it down until you make X number of calls. Do NOT expect any results.

Why? Well, listen to Professional Inviter specifically the Ten Communication Qualities and you will know that you will not be doing most of them correctly because all you can focus on is fear.

How can you possibly be INTERESTED in your prospect when you're fearful?

So, make a bunch of calls (preferably to people you don't know) and just know you probably won't get any new people to join your business. But what you will get is the ability to make calls and that's worth millions.

So the bottom line to getting over the fear of picking up the phone and dialing a prospect is to face the fear head on.

First, get educated and trained so you know how to effectively communicate with prospects. And the second, and most important step to your MLM success is to just jump in and do it...make those calls!

People often shun the approaches of Network Marketers because the first impression Network Marketing has on individuals is probably, "Oh! Pyramid selling?"

However, this is a wrong perception of Network Marketing!

Pyramid schemes have a similar structure but completely different focus. Pyramid schemes reward members for recruiting new distributors, and generally overlook the marketing and selling of merchandise.

This is outlawed by many states because the structure inevitably collapses.

Why is this so?

This is because sooner or later the recruitment of new distributors stops thus causing the plan to collapse. As a result, most people involved in it lose their money, except those at the very top of the pyramid.

Network Marketing is a structure for distributing goods and services through networks of independent distributors.

In the business of Network Marketing, individuals earn money by retailing goods and services and also by sponsoring other people who become part of their sales organization (downline).

By sponsoring other people, distributors earn monthly bonuses on the sales revenues generated by their downline.

Therefore, it is definitely not a pyramid scheme.

In addition, people often tell you that Network Marketing equates to Pyramid because they explained that only the person at the top makes the real money.

This argument is rather hilarious to begin with because it could just as easily be used as an explanation for a traditional corporation.

In a traditional corporation, the chairman, president, and vice-president are always receiving more impressive paychecks than those people working under them. Money flows to the top in a corporation.

So the question is, "Why should it be any different in Network Marketing?" Nonetheless, with this being said, it is still different because in Network Marketing it is possible for downlines to be earning more than their upline.

This is not a problem because to your sponsor, the more business you do, the more you build your sponsors line! The truth is Network Marketers can control their financial destiny; people with jobs cannot.

That is why many people chose Network Marketing over a job.

The part that attracts me most into entering this business is that it is also about sharing information, helping people make better decisions, and leading them to an improved quality of life.

Tom "Big Al", a Network Marketer for Nutrition For Life International and a professional trainer, says that Network Marketing is nothing more than recommending and promoting the things we value.

This is not an exaggeration, but in Network Marketing, one can have an equal opportunity to succeed and to create a lifestyle of financial freedom, luxury and personal fulfillment.

Nonetheless, the most important question that arises is this, "Are you sure this is a legitimate business?"

According to reliable statistics, women dominate this industry; senior citizens make up about five percent of the market and the physically challenged account for more than eight percent of the market.

Everybody from all walks of life is doing it!

According to Michael Sheffield, a consultant to hundreds of Network Marketing companies and President of Sheffield Resource in Tempe, Arizona, one out of every ten American households includes someone who is involved in Network Marketing, or direct selling.

In addition to this, with reference to the statistics generated by the Direct Selling Association, more than a hundred and fifty thousand people worldwide join a Network Marketing company every week. If people were continuously joining this business, would this not be a legitimate business?

The most exciting part about this business is that it is waiting to explode!

Statistics show that two percent of the US population is engaged in Network Marketing. This is also true for Australia and South Africa.

In the United Kingdom and Mexico, one percent of the population is in the business; in Japan, three percent; in Canada four percent and as for Taiwan, the country most active in the Network Marketing industry, eight percent of the population is engaged in Network Marketing.

These figures are continually jumping even as you are reading this article right now! As can be seen, there is great potential in this industry especially in countries that have yet to come to know of this quick expanding business. A boom market awaits Network Marketing especially in India and South East Asia.

Nevertheless, not everyone is cut out to be a Network Marketer. There are some requirements to be met so as to qualify as a distributor. It must first be established that there is an interdependent relationship between distributors and the company they are based in.

Distributors depend on their Network Marketing Company to provide unique, desirable and quality products and services. They also depend on the company to create supporting systems such as operations, marketing, sales, customer services, and personal development.

The Network Marketing Company, on the other hand, depends on its distributors to learn and follow the systems and then to teach the systems to other distributors whom they sponsor in their downlines.

Consequently, the ultimate success or failure of the company depends greatly on the effectiveness of its systems and the ability of its people to teach and follow them. Therefore, individuals need to have a certain calibre in order to qualify for distributorship.

Distributors are required to be committed to their organization, business and the company; enthusiastic about the products and in teaching the systems to their downlines; cooperative to their upline and the company; fair and honest in whatever they do or say.

Hilton Johnson, the founder of MLM University, says that Network Marketing works because people are given every chance to succeed with low investment and very little skills. That is so true.

Network Marketing works because firstly, there is always a need for it. Though the economy may be good, people always need supplemental income but are seldom given the opportunity to make more money in a full time job.

These people thus turn to Network Marketing because the risks involved are low while there is great potential for high financial return.

The second reason why Network Marketing works is because people are looking for money and freedom from jobs they do not enjoy. Being able to have both money and freedom at the same time is just too irresistible to pass up.

Thirdly, people value time the most.

In a poll done in 1997 by Money magazine, sixty four percent of the Americans and sixty eight percent of the women surveyed chose time off work over more money.

In response to this poll, Network Marketing Lifestyles magazine commented that the desire for more time encouraged more of Americas dissatisfied workers to start their own Network Marketing business.

This is because Network Marketing gives them more time by allowing them to work from home. Last but not least, the products and services that Network Marketing Companies offer are often attractive. Network Marketers are usually the ones responsible for introducing new products and services.

For example, Neways International is known for creating personal care products that are free from potentially harmful ingredients. Therefore, as a result of these four solid reasons, the question of whether Network Marketing works can be confidently answered with a positive yes.

Besides the appealing monetary gains that attract people to this business, there are reasons other than money. The greatest reason of all would be getting recognition for your success in the business. It is found that the greatest motivation for people is the desire to be recognized.

Network Marketing Companies organize annual conventions to present awards or prizes for people successful in the business. Thus, success is encouraged and recognition motivates individuals to continue to strive for the better in their Network Marketing business.

Secondly, the people themselves, who are in Network Marketing, attract those who have yet to join the business. This is because the distributors in Network Marketing are positive, friendly and are willing to help one another.

This creates an amiable and comfortable atmosphere surrounding the business thus attracting people to join.

Who would not want to join a company filled with friends who are positive and helpful? Often so, issues like race, ideology, gender, education and seniority are left behind by the Network Marketers at their previous jobs.

With no such social problems to contend with, distributors are able to concentrate solely on their business and make it successful in the shortest period of time.

The third factor that attracts people to Network Marketing is the component of Personal Development. In normal jobs that people are commonly involved in, individuals get beaten down by their work, employers, colleagues, commuting and the need to get ahead. As a result, these individuals lose self-esteem.

This is not the case for Network Marketing. Through weekly telephone conference calls, regional and annual meetings, cozy home meetings, audio and video resources and workbooks, distributors are encouraged to work on themselves harder than they work on the business.

As a result, the more successful one becomes in Network Marketing, the higher ones self-esteem. Lastly, Network Marketing also causes you to have the ability to set your own hours and to work around your familys schedule.

All these non-monetary reasons are all crucial reasons why people join a Network Marketing business.

Even in this technology-savvy generation, the emerging mode of MLM (Multi Level Marketing) companies is offering distributors to leverage their time through technology.

Right now, Network Marketing Companies worldwide are encouraged to use new tools such as the Internet, for communicating with prospects, training distributors, and educating their downlines.

Indeed, Network Marketing is an opportunity that satisfies two important variables. It makes a difference and has an influence in the lives of other people. It is also rewarding in far more ways than just the dollar.

Dayle Maloney, the author of the book I Could Have Quit $7,000,000 Ago, is one example of a Network Marketer who could not get enough of the business.

At age sixty-five in the year 2000, he was already earning more than $10,000,000 and could retire but he still continued because he says the money do not matter anymore.

Most people jump into a new home business on a hope and dream.

They look at the compensation plan and the testimonials involved with the network marketing company that they are about to join and see the vision.

They say "Man ... IF I max out this plan I'll be making $40,000 a month and I'll never have to work again! Lets give it try!"

They fill themselves up with anticipation for the windfall of cash that is on the way and they sit back and wait for the money to come to them.

Then a month later after they go through a few trails and try a few things unsuccessfully they say . . . "Why isn't this working?"

Then the next month when they put in half the effort they put in their first month and nothing happens again they quit and say they were scammed.

My question to you is . . . were they scammed?

You see, before you start any Network Marketing business you have to do a little bit more homework than just look at the compensation plan and the testimonials. You have to really research what you are about to get yourself into.

What type of research do you have to do? What questions should you ask?

Here they are:

  • How long has the company been around?
  • What is the product?
  • Is the product unique?
  • Does the product have mass appeal?
  • Is the product a front runner in an emerging market?
  • Can you become passionate about the product?
  • Does the business have a powerful marketing system in place?
  • Who are the successful people in this business?
  • What are the successful people doing to create that success?
  • Is the product something that the majority of the public can afford?
  • Am I personally financial stable enough to start a new business?
  • What type of a monthly marketing budget will I have to set aside to be successful?
  • What are the conversion statistics for the marketing process?
  • Is the business truly duplicable?
  • What would be my break even point?
  • Is there a way to make money quickly with this business or is there a way that I can create a quick income in marketing this business?
  • Etc.

You see it's not just the opportunity that has to be correct. You too have to be correct for the opportunity and you have to be in a financial position to take advantage of the opportunity at hand.

Way too many times I see people joining my business that jump in on a hope and a dream.

They have barely enough money to pay for there monthly membership commitment and yet they still want to know the fastest way to grow their business for FREE.

When people get caught up in the emotion of opening the possibility for more in their life sometimes they dont think clearly. They think if they can just get themselves in they will get rich.

It's not just about getting yourself in.

It's about getting yourself in and putting yourself in a position to be able to fully maximize the opportunity at hand.

I get asked the following WRONG question all the time.

"How long until I make money?"

It's not about how long until you make money  - it's about what you have to do to make money.

The truth is you could put yourself in a profitable situation tomorrow or today, but it would take resources and a good deal of learning to know how to do it.

The truth is, the fast way is never the FREE way. It's either going to take you a good deal of money to put yourself in a profitable position or a good deal of education and leverage, and most of the time both.

There is no luck factor.

You don't earn money until you are worth of the income you produce. As the great Earl Nightingale always says "You have to be worth more than you are getting paid for your income to grow."

This is the natural state of all things and its not going to change. In order for your income to grow you must grow.

Now . . .

Let me back up for a second to say that you CAN create a large amount of success in Network Marketing for free, but not until you know how.

If you don't have the answer to this question of how to create a large amount of success for free now and it is a burning desire for you learn how to do this, then get out there and do the necessary leg work and research to get yourself into to the position in which you can grow your network marketing organization for FREE.

Enough of this banter . . .

If you want to have HUGE success in Network Marketing quickly you will need to of course obtain or create a powerful marketing system that is highly duplicable. If you want do this on the internet here are the critical factors that you should look for in the least:

  • A high power lead capture page
  • A strong follow up email system that incorporates the fear of loss.
  • A direct marketing style website that sells so you dont have to.

Lets talk about the secret that will absolutely guarantee that you succeed in Network Marketing.

Ready?

Well remember when I gave the example above of the typical mindset for people entering into network marketing?

They say:

Change the word "IF" to "WHEN"
