How to Succeed With a Network Marketing Program Copyright DeAnna Spencer 2004
Network Marketing Companies abound by the thousands. If you type in network marketing into any of the major search engines, you will get thousands upon thousands of results. A lot of people have joined network-marketing programs and made lots of money from their efforts.
Anybody with ambition and energy can probably find a company that suits them and join it and eventually attain financial freedom.
However, you must remember that this is a business and you must put forth effort to achieve your goals. Otherwise you may wind up just barely breaking even.
Here are some things to consider before you sign on the dotted line or submit that form...
First, be sure of the Network Marketing Company you hook up with. Make sure that it is all that it claims to be. Make sure that you are actually promoting a product or service. If you get paid more for recruiting than you do for selling, that should make you raise your eyebrows.
Make sure that the company is stable and that it will not only make regular payments to you, but that it will ship its merchandise to your customers and that it is going to be around for a long time.
Secondly, be sure that the product you are promoting has mass appeal- that is something that all people will want. Does it sell itself? Will people be making a beeline for your website to purchase this product? You should make sure to have such a product because that will make your efforts a lot easier.
Finally, make sure that the program is something that can be easily adapted to sales by mail and the Internet. I suggest that you find something that you can start promoting online, since that is the least expensive method to use. Of course some people will disagree with me on this point...
My suggestion to you would be to create a free newsletter. You also need to create some sort of freebie to get people to sign up for your newsletter. It could be an e-book or it could be some sort of special report. You could also offer your subscribers free advertising for as long as they are subscribed to your ezine.
The most important thing is to get the list built up. Once you get your list built up, you now have a warm market to market your network-marketing program too. Don't bombard your subscribers with messages about your program.
Send out messages periodically, but don't flood their inbox with messages about your program. Also be sure to follow up with your prospects. The newsletter itself can be used as a tool to earn money, but of course that is another article...
Making money with a network-marketing program isn't the easiest thing in the world to do. If you follow a plan and believe in yourself, you can succeed with one of these programs.

The Top 17 Network Marketing Training Ezines in MLM
A good MLM training newsletter is worth a million dollars to a distributor in Network Marketing. Many Network Marketing newsletters/ezines can be found out there, and there are some really good ones. But there are also some MLM newsletters that are not so good.
What do you do? Subscribe to them all and read them for a year, and then decide yourself? (You've got to be kidding!)
You don't have to. We have already done that. We subscribed to over 100 MLM training ezines, (whew!) and found some really good ones, and others that are ones we cannot recommend. (There were 14 total people that read the newsletters regularly, and the top 17 list is the consensus of the 14 people.)
What were the criteria that we used to look at these network marketing newsletters?
1)Constant fresh and unique training content.
We looked for a consistency in content, and fresh content. Many MLM newsletters we found ran some of the same articles in their ezine. Others changed the titles, and kept the content the same. And many MLM training newsletters were actually nothing more than sales letters trying to sell something, but disguised as training newsletters.
We simply asked this question: Is the content unique and fresh and trains folks, not just motivates them. Many ezines were a lot of motivation, but little training. There is nothing wrong with that, but if you are looking for a training newsletter, it can be a little frustrating.
What we found is that many were highly motivational, but not educational. We support motivation by all means! But we could not include them in our top 17 MLM training ezine list.
2)Delivery of the newsletter regularly.
We found that many ezines were emailed out every once so often, and not on any kind of a schedule. We felt that if you are going to be depending on a training letter as a way to learn this business, then you need to know that the delivery of content will be consistent, and dependable.
Either once a week, or twice a month was the average delivery time of the most read newsletters, and that seems to be what people are looking for.
3) Topics focused on, in the newsletter, for what the distributor needs to learn to succeed.
The best newsletters we found had a focus of topics that would be what the average networker would need to know to create a successful business.
These topics include recruiting, prospecting, approaching people, handling objections, doing presentations, following up, closing, training, building a downline, motivating your group, leadership, personal development, doing events, new distributor training, and advanced training in MLM and Network Marketing.
Many of the newsletters were too focused on one or two topics, and never varied for a more complete training program. There is nothing wrong with that, but a total training focus is what we were looking for.
4) The Look and Feel of the MLM training newsletter.
Many of the newsletters were only text, no graphics, but had great content. Many of the newsletters looked incredible, but their content was very weak. We found that the best training MLM newsletters had both.
Even some of the text ezines were well put together, and had great content. A great example of that is Tom Big Al Schreiter's Fortune Now Newsletter. It contains great stuff and it's all text.
The feel of the training ezine was also important. Did they come across like authority writing? Was the feel of it directing, leading, and teaching people? Was the feel of the newsletter friendly and warm, or cold? This was another factor that was part of the over all consideration.
5) Did the newsletter want you to tell others about it?
This was a real big consideration. We talked to some folks that had subscribed to many of them, and they all basically said the same thing: The newsletters that they were all talking about were the same ones.
This was important, as the content needs to be exciting, and strong enough for people to want to tell their team about it.
These were the 5 Most Important considerations of the Top 17 MLM Training Newsletters. There were other considerations as well, like popularity on search engines, ease of subscribing, reprints on sites, etc.

Top 5 Sure-fire Ways to Kill Your Network Marketing Business
If I walk down the street today, telling people about my network marketing opportunity, and someone asks me "Isn't that a pyramid scheme?", then that guy is bound to get a hard knock on the head. Network marketing, since many years ago, have come out of the closet and it's somewhat 'shady' and 'unorganized' practices.
Today, network marketing, or multi-level-marketing, represents a legitimate, professional and serious business opportunity worldwide.
However, it is important to realize that network marketing is still a relatively new industry, and most people still don't get it when running a MLM business. Although it is a 'business', running it like an ordinary business will often do it more harm than good. Here are 5 ways to feed your MLM the cyanide pill:
WAY 1 - 'You're invited to my MLM party"
Surely nothing is worth more to a business person than reputation, especially to a network marketer. Yet, there are some who still insist on tricking others into having a look at their opportunity.
There are many ways of doing this, with the best (and most notorious) being inviting people over for dinner or a birthday party, then all of a sudden enlightening them on how their lives suck big time, and how the only way not to die poor is by being a member of your downline.
Surely, many people who scream at the mere mention of MLM have gone through these deceptive marketing tactics before, and have convinced at least 10 others on this 'evil scheme that corrupts the minds of honest men'.
WAY 2 - "My upline leader is god"
It is true that in order to achieve success, you need to learn from a leader who is already successful. However, this does not have to be your immediate sponsor or upline, especially one that had been 'assigned' to lead you.
In fact, you'll need to make a effort to make your way up the line to find someone you can relate to, who is already achieving the success you want.
As in any other business, all human beings are selfish to a certain extent. You need to associate with a leader who will help you develop long-term personal development, as well as short-term sales or recruiting results. Beware those who merely push you towards achieving sales targets.
WAY 3 - "Now it's your turn"
Network marketers in the matrix-plan systems are the most likely to fall prey to this suicide move. It's common in these type of plans to hear the magic words "All you need to do is recruit three".
In reality, however, this is rarely the case. Every network marketer in matrix, breakaway or other plans need to know that they will have to sponsor or recruit many people personally before success is within a stone's throw. Relying on others to "do their job" is a utopian idea that will not work.
WAY 4- "I'll take 2 months off"
Consistency is the key to getting great results in anything we do. Professional soccer players know that even one week off can cause a drop in their fitness levels.
When it comes to marketing your MLM opportunity, think of it as a pipeline, draining water from a well 20 feet underground. When you turn off this pipeline, it soon dries up, and you'll need to start all over again from the bottom the next time you want to take a sip.
Lack of consistency may not kill your business fast, but it's one good way of gicing it a slow death. Small, consistent advertising is much better than irregular, hit-and-run tactics.
WAY 5 - "Let me do it for you"
Jim Rohn (http://www.jimrohn.com), America's foremost business philosopher, probably said it the best:
"You can help a thousand, but you cannot carry three on your back. You have to learn to help those who deserve, not those who need"
Perhaps every network marketer, at some point, is guilty of this, especially when it comes to family members and friends who join their opportunity.
I know that I am guilty of being the delivery boy, the chauffeur and the clerk in my first year in network marketing. I have, at one point of time, tried to baby-sit my team members.
All I learned is that you simply cannot drag someone across the finish line. If you attempt to, you will drag yourself down into frustration and failure.
It's much better spending your time looking for people who deserve success, rather than helping those who simply refuse to give it what it takes.
Good luck, and wish you all the best.
