Network Marketing Success Secret I Learned In Singapore My recent trip to Singapore was a wonderful experience in that one can become to rigid in their lifestyle if not exposed and reminded that there are others just as valid and sometimes even more productive. A fresh angle, a new outlook, is an invigorating things and is something to be reflected upon internally. So this morning I find myself doing just that, looking back on my recent experience to pull out new jewels of wisdom to improve not only myself but by my business and yours as well. I'll start off with a story . . . While in Singapore I had the opportunity to experience the night life Singpore style on a couple occasions. One of my favorite experiences was going to a club called the "Geographer". I've never seen anything like it here in the US. It was a dance club with not just a DJ, but a live band and performers. For each song the group of singing and dancing performers would switch off so there was always a new face and a new sound to hear. It didn't matter that the language that the performers were singing in was Thai, the melodies and dance routines kept us entertained even if we didn't understand a single word. That first night was cut short because the following day was my day to prepare for our full day workshop so we cut out early. Fast forward to after that workshop and where did we go to celebrate? You guessed it! Right on back to the Geographer, and it was just as fun the second go around. So the lesson here is this: As far as network marketing is concerned, remember it's the repeat business that makes you the lions share of your income in your business. So after you get that first recruit you have to not only train them, but you have to give them an experience that they enjoy so they keep coming back. My friends who invited me to Singapore I must say display this quality in abundance, extremely sharp and extremely good down to earth people and they use the above strategy to keep their group growing and growing. In fact, I'm not even sure if they are aware of just how powerful what they do is. Here's how it works . . . They combine offline and online network marketing. Remember previously I told you that if you don't want to have to deal with selling in your business there is a simple solution? Act as a personal consultant even before a person decides to join your business and you in turn create a natural attraction to you and what you're doing in your business. These guys got it down pat. Each week they hold live in person internet network marketing training sessions virtually for free. They do charge a modest fee just to cover the cost of the room rental and equipment, but that's it. They train newbies for nothing the first two trainings, if I had to give it a value I'd say at least $997 for what they do and how they do it, but again they do it free. Why? It creates trust and a natural attraction and huge thirst for the next go around. So many of their guest come back that second time. I know I would too. After the second free session they give their guest a choice, either pay a modest fee to attend the workshops or join their business and continue to attend for virtually free. Guess what happens? Most decided to join their business. And because they do what they do live and in person weekly their retention rate is extremely high. Incredibly simple and so incredibly powerful. How To Use a Top Ten List To Market Your MLM Product or Service Many people not only in network marketing, but in other businesses as well, use business cards, flyers, brochures, key chains, and all sorts of advertising tools to get their business name out there. You probably have used some of these methods as well. While you may think they are innovative and creative strategies, what do you think your prospects really think? Well, to put it bluntly, they are not impressed. Ouch! I know that is probably surprising, but it’s true. Why aren’t they impressed? Because these items really don’t tell sell your opportunity to them. Here is an idea. Why not try a “Top Ten List”? It really works well! Let’s discover how this is done. A “Top Ten” list is simply a list of reasons your network marketing prospects would be interested in your opportunity’s product or service. Here’s an example of an opportunity list. Click here for current advertising rates (opens in a new window) MLM Training - Prevent Your Prospect From Taking Control With This Technique If you find yourself losing control of a conversation with a prospect, you must stop and ask yourself, “Who has the knowledge?” You, of course, have the knowledge. If your prospect is the one asking all the questions, it can head you down the wrong path instead of to what your primary point of the discussion is - to make that person’s life better. The whole importance of my Hot Prospecting Tip #6 is: You have to be the one asking questions because you are controlling the conversation. If you don’t ask questions, your prospect will. So you should always be one step ahead of your prospect to stay in control of the conversation. The technique is very simple to explain, and then if you practice it a few times you will absolutely love this! By the way, I go into deep discussion on this in Professional Inviter. Here’s the tried and true technique: You give your prospect a quick answer to the questions they ask. Don’t lie nor evade! Make sure your answer is quick, not elaborate or detailed and then in the same breath, continue with a question. Let’s say that you initiate a call to a friend and as you’re talking you do the inviting formula and ask them what’s important to them, and they tell you. You then move to invite them to learn more about your MLM business. Here is an example of what NOT to do: You: “Well, I have something that may help you achieve _______.” Prospect: “Oh really. How so?” You: I am in a business where you can . . . . No! You bombed out! You started to answer the question and your prospect just reversed who has control of the conversation. A better way to do this would be: You: “Well, I have something that may help you achieve _______.” Prospect: “Oh really. How so?” You: “Well, I’m glad you asked. I have a video that will answer your question. Would you prefer to receive a DVD or would you like something on the Internet you can look at right now?” Bam, you just reversed the direction of who is controlling the conversation — you answered their question, but you’re in control. That person now has to decide whether they want the DVD or the online version. As you’re talking with a prospect you don’t know, start with simple questions that don’t require a lot of thought. Questions like: “Where do you live?” or “How long have you lived in this area?” As you get into the inviting formula, continue to ask questions that require more conversation from that person so you can get a better understanding on what that person is looking for. Questions like: “What kind of work do you do?”, “What do you like/dislike about your job?”, “What job experience do you have?” Make sure your ideas fit with that person’s needs. As long as you don’t use too much assertiveness (violation of Communication Quality #4 in Professional Inviter and Brilliant Communicator), I suggest you ask more personal questions. If you don’t infringe a little on that person’s life history, you may not fully find out what that person needs, wants or doesn’t want. Remember, your mission is to find out what your prospect needs and wants, and if they qualify, invite them to look at your MLM business. Once you let them take control of the conversation it’s very difficult to take it back. Stay on track by using this simple technique and you will achieve MLM success.
