Why aren’t you using a funded proposal system? Really, why not? Are you against earning money?

Most people in network marketing are just not doing enough advertising. They don’t have enough people going through their sales process, or marketing system, or whatever the heck you want to call it.

The reason they do not have enough people going through their system is because they Can - Not - Afford to do more advertising than they are already doing.

They can’t afford it. They don’t dare to risk it.

It’s good to set a limit on your advertising spending. You should stick to a budget that you can stick with.

One that you can afford.

But if you can not get to a point where you earn more than you are spending… When will things ever change?

They won’t. You will just keep repeating history over and over again.

Maybe right now you are buying leads and emailing them. Oh, maybe you actually call them. Maybe you are spending rediculous amounts of money at Google Adwords . Nothing wrong with that. I use Adwords quite a bit.

But for most people that will only bring a limited amunt of people interested in what you have to offer. And I dont care what it is you are offering.

In most cases, network marketers actually spend more than they are earning. They are paying for a dream that they will never get to see come to reality. Because they can not afford to expand their advertising budget and methods.

If you knew how, you could actually advertise through mail order. You could use post cards. You could place advertisements all over the place. Business magazines. Success magazines. Local papers. You name it. The more the better, right?

But you need to be able to afford it. If you don’t have an offline system in place you could create one. You could expand. You might have to learn some things. Hey, you might even have to test some things to see if it really works.

You might lose money testing something. But if you were making enough cash already, you could afford to. With a funded proposal you could be earning that cash. Do you see that?

But instead, most people just try to get people to join. They try to build a residual income first.

NO. Don’t do that. It’s too slow for most people. Sell something first. Even before that offer something for free. Help people with what they want. Then you offer a low cost product that will help them more. Then a higher priced product that will help even more.

You’re building a relationship when you do this. Don’t be afraid to accept money for something good. Later, when they trust you, then you can backend them into a residual program. It’s real world business.

It’s called a funded proposal. That’s how those big dogs can build such huge downlines. Because they can afford to do all that advertising. You can too. It might take awhile, sure. But you have to start somewhere right?

Usually when we think of multilevel marketing what comes to mind is recruiting.  Trying to find people that want to earn money from home, and then convincing them to join our opportunity.

Convincing is the key word here. Nobody wants to join a convincing business. But that's what we do in our industry.

Then we wonder why we have a hard time building a solid organization.

Initially people join an mlm opportunity for the money. I mean, that is why we do this, for the money right?

Maybe.

If you look at the leaders in this industry, and in your own organization. I mean really look. You'll see that they offer something to their downlines much more than just " How to Make Money".  Because the how to's can be found in your local bookstore, or even the public library.

Sorry to tell you, but just the "how to's" will never be enough.

One of the things your leaders are doing is they are busy climbing the mountain. They are going on ahead of the pack. They make sure the mountain is safe to climb. While you are climbing that mountain, your leaders are encouraging you. As if to say "Yeah, you can do it, If I made it this far so can you".

Your leaders are also yelling down to you, they are pointing out where the rocks are. And giving advice on how to go over the rocks, or under them, or around them. A great leader will even try to get you up the mountain even higher than the leader is.

Remember, MLM is certainly not the only way to make money. Just watch late night television.

Pretend you watched some infomercial on tv, and ended up buying an ATM machine, or some Internet Kiosk Thingy. Are those companies going to do do all the stuff your upline does? No. They will not. "cause they don't give a rat's bat about you. But your upline does!

It's this extra attention. The caring leadership. The built in self development that appeals to so many people. And don't forget, people are becoming more spiritually aware than ever before.

I'm not talking religion here either. People are tired of the corporate, don't give a damn rat race, tread mill, life they are living. They want purpose, passion. People want to feel good inside. They want to feel important.

Like they belong to something. A movement. And they want to feel like what they are doing with their lives is of value to other people. Because when you uncover all the B.S., people, almost all people, are really, really nice.

So let's point this back to you. I know you're a nice person and all. But what can you do to inspire people. because if you can inspire others, you'll set yourself apart from all the other "please please join me" networkers.

And you do want that, right?

So first of all, forget about the money. The money will come. But stop focusing on it when you are dealing with people. Think about your vision, and all that when you are alone.

Pretend you are doing mlm for free. As a volunteer thing. Or charity. Ask yourself why. With the money issue gone, why would you do mlm? If you can't find an answer you are in the wrong industry. Go sell vacuum cleaners or something.

Because if you don't love this. If you don't feel this business people will not follow you. And you'll never be able to grow much of a downline.

Find the desire to be better, to do more, to grow as a human being, and to bring up as many people as you can along the way. Think about how you can give increase to everyone you meet. Even if you have no intentions to do business with them.

Think about what your purpose is. It doesn't have to be to save the world. But something you feel very strongly about. And how being in the network marketing industry is helping you with your purpose.

And of course you need to have confidence. Yes, things can get scary. But just do a tiny little thing you have never done before. Something small that you know will help you or others. And then do just a tiny little bit more.

All those little actions will become big actions. You will build your confidence and be seen as someone who takes big actions.

If you think about it, you already know what to do. Because growing yourself, and others is a very natural thing. Just allow yourself to do it. And fine tune it as you go along.

To Call MLM Leads or Not to Call?

Good question!

That has been a question, and a debate, since the Internet and MLM joined hands. 

I`ve asked this question, been asked this question... and been involved in this debate on BOTH sides. 

Truth is, it doesn`t matter. There is no right answer. There is no right answer because it really depends on how you personally want to do it.

Not so much how you are told to do it. 

Of course there are things to consider. In network marketing the big thing we are doing is building relationships of trust and common goals. 

That common goal is a better lifestyle. I want that for you. You want that for your business partners, and hopefully you want that for your prospects. 

But building relationships with complete strangers takes time or money. Or both.  

If you are comfortable on the phone and really care for your prospects you can do well and spend less money. Effective calling, with or without a phone script means you can purchase less mlm leads.  

But it takes practice and skill. And it takes time away from your daily activities.  

To just email leads and not calling them is easy. There is little work involved at this point. With an autoresponder doing most of the labor you can be playing.  

But email alone takes time. It`s harder to build trust. Responses to email are lower. This means buy more mlm leads, costing more money. 

A trade off. But both methods work. As long as you do it and believe it will work. 

Now I know what you`re thinking. Your way is the right way. And I agree. It`s the right way for you because that is what you believe. And hopefully it`s what you enjoy. 

But I`m asking you for a favor. I`m asking you to look around and see how other successful networkers are doing their business. See what hey do when they purchase leads.  

And to understand that your downline can be very successful for you and for themselves. Even if they build their own business different than you do. As long as it`s building of course ;)  

In our industry there are six and seven figure earners that simply call their leads.  

There are six and seven figure earners that only email their leads.  

There are others that do a combination of both. And still others that only contact people they know or meet and never purchase mlm leads.  

Different people. Different methods. six and seven figure earners.  

How can this be?  

There`s only one explanation. This is a people business. And as people, we are all different. Different wants, different beliefs.  

We run around waiving a flag yelling Duplicate! Duplicate! But it just doesn`t happen.  

Yes, we have business plans. We have systems to help us with our marketing. And these are very helpful.  

But at some point in time we deviate from the plan. We venture off and try *our* way. Only if it`s slightly different.  

You should encourage your partners to stick with "The Plan". To try to build their business the way you do. To use the same system as you. After all YOU are the one with the experience.  

But as a leader you should also give your members room to grow. To pave their own way if they insist.  

And encourage and support them in their efforts. Even if the method is different than you`re own.  

If the goal is to get to the other side of the lake... Who cares if you swim, walk, or take a boat. When you`re there you`re there.
